As in a dream, I was gifted the opportunity to travel though nine countries, following the Silk Road. Visiting Turkey, Tunisia, Iran, Uzbekistan, Syria, India, Myanmar, Mongolia, and China during a period of three weeks. I received a glimpse of varying cultures, as well as landscapes. I was constantly challenged, by not having the opportunity to chose my light or the time of day when I entered mosques in Iran, a village in Myanmar, a ger in Mongolia or a market in Syria, I photographed with fascination and awe the ancient columns of Persepolis and the exquisite tiles of mosques in Uzbekistan. Yet, I was more in the patterns of life and culture reflected in faces.
